About Us
Darby Canyon Spinoni is located in the Teton Valley.  Teton Valley lies along the eastern
border of Idaho, snug against the 13,000' peaks of the Grand Teton range. The
communities of Driggs, Victor, Tetonia and others share the Teton Mountain Range with
the neighboring valley to the east, Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Folks describe Teton Valley
as "the quiet side of the Tetons." Notable landmarks?  Yellowstone National Park is to
the north and Teton National Park is to the east of Darby Canyon. Darby Canyon is both
in Idaho and Wyoming so has a dual "states ship".

Heading WEST from the Chicago suburbs, we arrived with high hopes and an
assortment of animals.  Diana having had an addiction to dogs and horses since
childhood, located a little ranch for us to settle in and be surrounded by The Rockies,
Big Hole and Teton Mountain Ranges. We also discovered a pair of pygmy goats that
were left behind by the previous owners;  they now co-habitate with our horses in our
"Midwestern" red barn.

We soon learned that living on a prairie of sagebrush brings about many unexpected
visitors, and newfound family members.  We found it necessary to adopt cats from the
local humane society, rescue Koi from ponds that would be emptied and of course we
needed some New Zealand Finches to fill our home with singing during our long
winters.

Living in a vast space with a sparse population, Diana thought it necessary to start up a
dog obedience training club.  After three years of starting out small and growing in
size, The Teton Valley Dog Training Club has been able to donate several thousand
dollars to our local spay/neuter fund in The Valley.  We donate our time to the
community every week as we train puppies, as well as adult and rescue dogs of every
breed from pedigreed to random bred. And yes, you can teach an old dog new tricks.

Diana is an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator who has tested and "graduated" over
150 dogs in the last 3 years.  What a wonderful feeling it is to see dogs being well
behaved!  It not only keep dogs and person happy, it also keeps dogs out of shelters if
they are trained...that is our philosophy.

Diana has a passion for dog agility.  She also volunteers and teaches 4H members and
their dogs agility during our summer months.  Diana also keeps busy by judging The
Teton County Fair 4H Dog Shows.  She has also put on dog information booths, an Open
Dog Show for the county and agility demonstrations at the yearly Teton County Fair.

Diana's love of dog agility is only surpassed by her devotion to Therapy Dog Visits from
hospitals to nursing homes to hospice work.  While an avid competitor, Diana has
managed to breed four litters of Spinoni that now live from coast to coast and Canada.
Welcome to Darby Canyon Spinoni!
